How to Fit YOUR Bat

This page gives a few quick ways to find your bat size range using general parameters...

PLEASE NOTE:  To fully fit a bat to any batter takes into account a good deal of information about you the batter.

When you're serious about a true custom built bespoke bat crafted just for you - we're happy to help out!

The best advice we can give You or any other batter is this:

The most important part of batting is YOU! Fact is it's not the bat - it's the batter.  Even the most expensive and perfectly built bat can't swing itself.

All the silly hype young batters hear growing up about the next "new wonder bat with XYZ feature, guaranteed to add another 40 feet" blah, blah, blah is really only setting folks up for failure.  Because no bat in & of itself can make you a better batter.  No $500 bat can fix a .50 cent swing!  A poorly fitted bat can and does take away from your mechanics.  A properly fitted bat can certainly help you achieve real next level results... provided you put honest work into practicing a fundamentally sound swing.  We've seen well trained batters pick up $12 "reject" bats and hit home runs.  Had a young man use an old $20 cage bat and hit two home runs in the same day, one in each game of a double header!

To sum it all up - It's the Batter that matters Most... their skill is the single most important factor in determining success.  The wrong bat can detract - the right bat unleashes the work you've put into proper training!

We've all heard that, "training with wood makes ya a better hitter" - right?  Well only if that training helps you learn both: to move the barrel of the bat up and down to get to the ball (like with aluminum/composite bats) and also learn to move the bat in and out to meet the ball with the physical sweet spot of the bat's barrel.  And a good proper swing technique is vital to being able to add that next level but subtle skill to your swing.  That's the real "secret sauce" of becoming a better batter.

FACT:  A bat is really an Energy Transfer Device...

Why is it called the "Sweet Spot"? - because its the spot on the barrel that will cause the least amount of bat vibration when you make ball contact.  This allows more energy to be imparted to the ball = More Exit Velo = More Pop = Further Distance = More Bases = More Runs = More FUN!

The farther away from the actual physical sweet spot of the barrel the more vibration that's caused when you hit.  More internal bat vibration allows much less energy to be imparted to the ball = Less Exit Velo = Less Pop = Shorter Distance = Fewer Bases = Fewer Runs = Lots Less FUN!  Plus it means more sting in your hands by miss hitting the ball!  And with wood bats the sweet spot is small - generally about the width of 1 & 1/2 baseballs and its exact location can be unique to each bat but we can show you how to easily find your individual wood bat's real sweet spot without the $50K machines they use at the college research centers.
